FREQUENTLY ASKED
QUESTIONS
What is the
Boukman Institute?
The
Boukman
Institute
is a nonprofit public policy think tank.
Our
key objective is to promote a new critical discussion on the
human rights of African Americans informed by the language of
international human rights law, and be instrumental in shifting
the
American
political paradigm from a domestic civil rights model to
an international human rights model.
Why a think tank?
Currently there
is a void in the country and the need is great. At this time, no
African American public policy organization has at its core a
primary focus to inform and educate the African American
population about international human rights law as a means to
solving social and economic problems.
The
Boukman
Institute
seeks to direct African Americans towards the
United
Nations
(UN)
and the international community for technical, political and
economic assistance in their struggles for human rights, social
justice and equity.
